IMP is an Open Project

UPDATE Sep 05, 2025: New track, Erralis, added to the project.

More tracks are already in development and will be added over time. Listeners who purchase the EP on Bandcamp or on my store will automatically receive future additions at no extra cost.
One of them, Livra (Lint on a Mirror), is already announced, and others will follow.

The full version of IMP will remain exclusive to Bandcamp throughout its development.
A partial version may later be released on streaming platforms, but some tracks will remain Bandcamp-only, as an added value for the listeners directly supporting the project.

The digital edition

You can purchase the Digital Album from Bandcamp or from Demiurgo Shop (in this case you will also receive a free code for Bandcamp).
Bandcamp purchase includes unlimited streaming and high-quality download in wave and flac format available in 24-bit/48kHz, and in MP3.

The download includes the booklet “IMP: The Lore” with artwork and details on each track.
Remember: IMP is an open project, so new tracks will be added over time, and everyone who gets the EP today will receive future additions at no extra cost.

The IMP Concept

The name itself plays on a dual meaning: imp as a small, mischievous creature (unpredictable, erratic, elusive) and imp as a declaration of intent: improvised, impulsive and imperfect by design.

Each track is rooted in a real or imagined setting: a place, a moment, or a state of mind. These are not abstract pieces: they begin with a direct idea, often composed and recorded in a single take, preserving the energy and rawness of the initial impulse. The recordings are later expanded and completed in the studio, but the core always remains spontaneous.

The project embraces accidents, inspirations, asymmetry, polyrhythms and imperfection as creative tools. Instead of aiming for polished design, IMP allows instinct and gesture to lead. Each piece stands as a fragment, like a single melodic pattern or minimal sequence expanded through layering, modulation, and rhythmic mutation.

Each track has grown into a sonic figure, a sort of imaginary character shaped by the internal tension between structure and instability, repetition and transformation. Each track concept is representad by a gliph in the artwork.
IMP is a field of sonic experiments, and at the same time, a cast of shadows. Each one moves differently. Every one shares the same vision.

Press Review

If Netflix series producers overlook this EP, they’re definitely missing out. This is music perfectly suited for atmospheric soundtracks in any genre that calls for mystery, exploration, or the unknown. Demiurgo’s style — made of fleshy, solid sounds — evolves here, becoming modular, and once again he masterfully handles odd time signatures and ternary meters. (full review)

System Failure

IMP is a sonic adventure built around precise moments that clearly served as deep inspiration for its composition. Sound structures evolve like beams of light, starting with Aeloch … Nixalia is a true exercise in electronic sound design. (full review)

Mondo Spettecolo .com

The chosen style and its rich array of influences follow the same direction: an electro-ambient foundation over which unpredictable (or almost) IDM and glitch evolutions unfold, generating for each track unique patterns that play between repetition and the suspension of harmony. (full review)

Evra Press

Each track evolves through modular layering and rhythm shifts, transforming into fully developed sonic figures. The experimental aspect is prominent […] yet, each piece retains its own recognizable identity, keeping the listening experience fresh and never heavy. […] A well-crafted piece capable of delivering real musical avant-garde. A must-listen for fans of Nordvargr, Dorian Concept, Forest Swords, and Aphex Twin. (full review)

STANDOUT Zine

A fascinating and ambitious work, IMP clearly stands out in the landscape of contemporary electronic music. While improvisation seems to be its conceptual core, the recording still allows Demiurgo to refine certain details. […] The true charm of this EP lies in its vast and vibrant sea of experimentation. Demiurgo is an abstract sonic concept — yet also deeply melodic and introspective. Analog textures intertwine to create dreams and ever-changing oneiric visions — surprising, beautiful, and at times even unsettling. … IMP is Demiurgo’s new EP: instrumental electronic music with a strong analog flavor, enriched by a clear melodic flair reminiscent of early Massive Attack. Drones and rhythmic arpeggios build a spatial sound universe, over which rare and beautiful melodic lines are drawn. (full review)

Edicola delle Notizie

Instability and transformation animate tracks like Aeloch, Nixalia, and Glimmer, where an ambient backdrop supports a recurring theme that struggles to hold its shape, constantly threatened by surging waves of samples and glitch interventions that try to derail its trajectory. IMP is an engaging and boldly experimental work. (full review)

Canalesette

Here we find Demiurgo’s typical traits: the search for an epic dimension, bold modulations, and the raw power of synths. […] IMP is a work both daring and mature. Demiurgo is unafraid to expose himself, actively engaging the listener and sparking curiosity. (full review)

Life Factory Mag

Demiurgo’s music is for lovers of artists like Aphex Twin, Autechre, Boards of Canada, Fennesz […] A psychedelic and dreamlike journey is guaranteed when listening to this artist. You might lose connection with reality: you could end up in a sort of limbo where boundaries disappear and matter and spacetime can be reshaped. (full review)

Paginatre

Sometimes you’re not looking for a song. You’re looking for a passage. […] Between glitch, ambient, IDM and rarefied melody, IMP doesn’t follow formulas. It breathes, pulses, transforms. It doesn’t take you by the hand, but walks beside you. (full review)

Between the dark, the luminescent and the disturbing, Demiurgo offers desolate yet vigorous, foggy yet dense and concrete soundscapes ... Piercing, spatial and dramatic at the same time. (full review)

Sul Pezzo

If you really, really listen to all of the elements of these tracks (Aeloch) you can be taken away from all of the stress and the strain that we all feel. (listen on mixcloud)
